We invite proposals for tutorials to be organised in conjunction with the 2025 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS 2025). Tutorials will be held Sunday 03 August on Turrbal lands. The venue will be the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Australia. Accepted tutorials will be either half-day or full-day events.
Tutorials should complement and enhance the scientific program by providing participants with lectures and/or practical training sessions on innovative and emerging topics within the field of Geoscience and Remote Sensing. Tutorials are to be crafted to
- Improve community engagement, and
- Demonstrate the impact of using remote sensing data and modern tools to advance our understanding of Earth processes.
Equally important are practical tutorials that address effective communication strategies to help the community improve the skills of communicating research.
Finally, tutorials in topics that follow the Special Scientific Themes of IGARSS 2025, including but not limited to: EO in the support of SDGs, sustainability, advancements of flagship space programs, Earth and digital twins and, synergetic use of multiple EO missions and sensors will be highly appreciated.
The proposal should concisely describe the content of the tutorial and include:
General:
- Title
- Description (max 500 words)
- Tutorial Learning Objectives (max 300 words)

IGARSS 2025 will provide rooms, general presentation equipment for the speakers, and coffee breaks for the tutorials.
Tutorial proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their estimated benefit for the community, their fit within the tutorials program as a whole, and overall DEIAB values. Factors to be considered include relevance, timeliness, importance, diversity, and audience appeal; suitability for presentation in a half or full day format; past experience and qualifications of the instructors.
