GRSS Travel Support

Travel support for a limited number of GRSS members and student members may be available from the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
The GRSS travel support application must be submitted online by 1 March 2025 through the link below:

What the IGARSS travel grant will cover:

• Conference registration fee at your membership grade
• Flight cost to/from nearest airport¹
• Accommodation (Hotel/University residence) cost for 5 days up to a maximum of 500$ US²

¹Reasonable estimate based on current pricing using tools such as Travelocity, Expedia, Flight Hub, etc. Only economy fare will be accepted.
²A maximum of 100$ per day can be claimed.

When and how the IGARSS travel grant will be paid to you:

• Reimbursement will be made AFTER the conference, once all receipts have been submitted. Detailed instructions will be provided to recipients. Payment will be through direct deposit to bank account
• Claim must be submitted within 30 days after the conference
• Receipts are required for each claim. Amounts claimed without a receipt will not be reimbursed
• The final payment will be made within 14 days of a properly submitted claim

To apply for an IGARSS travel grant, you must:

• be an IEEE and GRSS member
• be a first author or presenting author on at least 1 accepted abstract
• have not received funding within the last 2 years

You can increase your chances to receive an IGARSS travel grant if:

• you bring in co-funding from your institution or other external sources
• you are an active GRSS volunteer in a local GRSS chapter or local GRSS student chapter
