Student Paper Competition
The Student Prize Paper Award was established to recognize the best student paper(s) presented at the IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS).
Eligibility
A full list of eligibility criteria is available on the GRSS website. The first author (i.e., the finalist student) is required to register and participate in the symposium and personally present the full 4-page paper.
During paper submission, select the option to enter the Student Paper Competition. Only submissions received before the deadline will be considered.
Guidelines for Student Paper Competition (SPC) presenters
You will first present to the SPC judges on Monday afternoon. The format for the SPC judging session is as follows:
- Each student will have 20 minutes allocated.
- Use 15-16 minutes to present your slides.
- Leave 4-5 minutes for questions from the IEEE GRSS Symposium Award Committee
- Audience is not allowed to ask questions in the SPC sessions.
Additionally, you will have an oral or poster presentation scheduled in the technical program. It is important to note that the time allocated for the SPC judging session differs from the time assigned for your normal technical program presentation. The technical program presentation is required for your paper to be included in the conference proceedings.
Selection and Awards
The Symposium Award Committee will select three winners based on the oral presentation and Q&A to the judges on Monday afternoon.The first place will receive the Mikio Takagi Student Prize, the second and the third places will receive Student Prize Paper Awards. The SPC awards will be conferred during an IGARSS award ceremony and reception to be held at the Convention Center from 17:00 on Thursday evening.
